What is the GenDev Scholarship?

The Generation Developer Scholarship was established to support ambitious computer science students in Munich financially and professionally. We firmly believe that practical experience at a young age lays the foundation for developing great software solutions later in life. The GenDev Scholarship aims to enable passionate IT students to invest time and resources into their own IT projects and thereby expanding their own IT skills.

Coding Challenge

On GitHub you can find the task description as well as hints for the solution. The completion of the coding challenge and the submission of your solution is a prerequisite for a successful application and represents the most important part of the selection process.

About the GenDev Scholarship

Financial support

€600 gross per month for a period of 12 months, so that you have more time and flexibility when implementing your software projects and expanding your skills. We hope this will strengthen your passion for software development.

Networking

Share your passion for coding with other IT students and look forward to exclusive events where you can work and learn together with fellow scholarship holders on real-world problems. Additionally, we invite each GenDev cohort to an exciting city trip, including a hackathon!

Work shadowing

Gain an exclusive insight into the world of software development at CHECK24 by accompanying one of our IT Heads for a day. You will experience first-hand how we take new features live, which technologies are used and which processes help our teams to work together as efficiently as possible.

Work and Learn

The scholarship program will give you an initial insight into the working methods and software development at CHECK24. If you would like to dive deeper and work on production code yourself as part of a working student job or internship, you will always get a place with us as a scholarship holder. Your working hours and your contribution will of course also be remunerated.

Your profile

You are studying a technical degree program

Your focus is on Computer Science or a closely related field (e.g. Business Informatics, Software Engineering).

You have a passion for coding and software development

Whether it’s personal IT projects, new technologies, or hackathons – you see them as more than university topics. You bring real passion and enthusiasm for coding.

You live in the Greater Munich area

For our exclusive scholarship events at the CHECK24 headquarters near Donnersbergerbrücke, your travel time is no more than one hour.

You have a curious, hands-on mindset

You think in lean solutions, like to experiment, and tackle challenges in a practical, proactive way.

You actively contribute to the scholarship program

With your previous experiences and your openness to exchange, you enrich the community of scholarship holders.

Application process

We accept applications for the GenDev Scholarship twice a year, at the beginning of each semester.
To apply, please submit your current resume and your solution to our coding challenge through the online application form by the end of the application period.
